Alumni Association

The Albert College Alumni Association is part of the extended Albert College Family which - in addition to former students - includes parents, governors faculty, staff, and other "friends of the College".

This association is comprised of over 4,000 people from across Canada and around the world. Contact between members of the Association and the College is maintained in a variety of ways, for example, through the alumni newsletter (Albertalks), reunions and gatherings (both on and off campus).

Our vision is to build an Albert College Alumni Association that is a strong and effective organization with committed and involved members who give back to the College and provide programs, awards, and events that benefit and recognize both the college and alumni.

The AC Alumni Association Strategic Plan is intended to complement the overall Strategic Plan for the College through 2012. In moving the Albert College Alumni Association towards its vision there are six key areas that incremental investment is expected to have the most significant positive impact.

Member Participation
Goal:  Increase member engagement and participation in Alumni and College programs and events

The Albert College Alumni Association in concert with the Development Office will continue to engage alumni through existing programs and a wide variety of new initiatives. Opportunities will be presented to renew alumni commitment to the school and a focus will be put on establishing early alumni relations with new graduates and class agents.

Member Philanthropy
Goal: Support the Development Office in fostering a “culture of giving” among alumni

The Albert College Alumni Association will increase its participation in the Annual Fund, special events,1857 Society, and other fundraising campaigns. Awareness will be raised as to the critical roll of donations in ensuring the future stability and growth of the school.

Member Communication
Goal: Effectively facilitate the communication of alumni with each other and with the College

The Albert College Alumni Association will work with the Development Office to use existing electronic and hard-copy formats to increase alumni-alumni, alumni-school, alumni-student, and alumni-prospect communication. New ways of alumni communication will be fostered to increase the sense of camaraderie and family amongst alumni.

Association Autonomy
Goal: Grow the Alumni Association financial resources

The Albert College Alumni Association will manage current finances responsibly and continue to expand programs that will increase available funds. Association funds will be used to help the College and provide opportunities for Alumni that may not be priorities for College dollars.

Member Recognition
Goal: Continue to recognize alumni achievements

The Albert College Alumni Association will maintain and grow programs to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Alumni to the College, their communities, and their professions. Special emphasis will be placed on recognizing and welcoming new alumni to the Association.

Global Representation
Goal: Expand our programs and events to better include and celebrate Alumni from around the World

The Albert College Alumni Association will engage more Alumni outside of Central Ontario to encourage regional alumni-run events. The Development Office will be supported in establishing a successful Alumni Mentor Program.
