Albert College has designed a program for English as a Second Language (ESL) students who need intensive support in order to develop their English Language skills. We call this the English Foundation Year (EFY) Program.
The EFY Program at Albert College focuses primarily on developing language skills. Additionally, students with the background, study skills and intellectual abilities can earn credits in other areas towards their high school diploma. Our Academic Office assists in creating personalized timetables for each applicant.
The EFY Program is lead by a highly qualified faculty member. With a maximum of only 10 students in the EFY Program, students are assured individualized attention.
Travel and Cultural Component: EFY students travel to various parts of Canada and may participate in Albert College's
Adventure Program. In addition to cultural trips, EFY student take part on our weekend program that includes athletics, cultural events, performances and social activities. Please see the EFY Program brochure for a list of potential educational and cultural trips.
Residence and Student Life: Students in the EFY program live in Albert College's established, single-gender
residences under the care of adult supervisors. Albert College's
Health Centre is available 24-hours a day to EFY students.
Tuition and Fees: The fees for the year, including boarding, tuition and program cultural and travel trips, are $52,000 (CDN). Tuition fees cover library services, computer and technology services, basic health care, infirmary supplies, the school yearbook, tuition insurance for boarding students, and student photographs.
All fees and charges are in Canadian dollars. Fees are not subject to the Ontario Harmonized Goods and Services Tax (H.S.T.). There is a one-time Enrollment Fee of $2,000, plus $2,500 is required for a Sundry Expense Account.
