Victoria Manor is home to all boarding female students. Victoria Manor is located just off campus on Highland Avenue while the boys’ residence is located on the main campus. The girls are only a two minute walk from the main campus. The girls enjoy their own fitness center at Victoria Manor as well as a full service kitchen where they often cook authentic dishes or cookies with friends. The girls also enjoy a number of common spaces; a TV/recreation room, dining and study room and a living room, as well as lots of outdoor green space.

Study hall is two hours (from 7 to 9 p.m.) every week night except Fridays. Students are supervised by a residential staff member and a faculty member who helps each student with their homework. The girls often help one another with their homework as well. Living and learning together creates a special bond between the girls that creates friendships that last a lifetime.

An Alumni Story: Sister's for Life

Meet the House Director: Heather Kidd
Profile by Alumna, Casilda Herrero '09

"If you’ve ever wanted to meet one of the best role models a girl could have, I’d like to introduce you to Heather Kidd. She is a woman who has heroically opened her doors to many girls who have just started their life in Canada, and/or away from their home for the first time. As she always says, “I have a son and 42 daughters”.

Mrs. Kidd always welcomes you, whether it is at school, or in her house. For any problems, insight, or for sharing of good news, the girls know they can go to her any time. Her role as the Admission Director is to travel to Mexico, Bermuda, Barbados, Bahamas, St. Kitts, Spain and many other places where she personally meets Albert College applicants and their families, and makes them feel welcome even before attending the school. On these trips she also makes a point on spending time catching up with alumni who help spread the word about their experiences at Albert.

Mrs. Kidd’s other role at Albert College is the Victoria Manor House Director. She makes everyone feel at home whether it’s students or staff; she’s always making sure everyone is well. Mrs. Kidd comes up with many new ideas to make the Manor more like a home and more fun. For each boarding girl Mrs. Kidd is your mommy away from home. If you are homesick, stressed or sad, her door is always open. She and her husband will talk to you and by the end you will come out laughing and with three pounds more in your stomach, which always makes you feel better. She has two fulltime jobs but even after working as hard as she always does, she still smiles at the start and at the end of every single day.

If you have attended Albert College, you will agree when I say that Mrs. Kidd should be one of the first people for you to meet, and she will be the last at convocation to come hug you in tears to say good-bye. I am so happy that I had this past three years with the woman that I am proud to call my Canadian mommy."  - Casilda Herrero ’09

What are Students Saying?
Albert College has been called home by many generations of students, both boarding and day. The students and staff at Albert will soon become your extended family. But don’t take our word for it – ask our students! Click on one of the girls pictures below to hear what they love about Albert and living in residence. Please Note: The first section of these videos have been recorded in the students' first language. An English version will follow in the second half.

 Ana Paula Trueba Caro (Mexico)

 Maria Aumiller (Germany)

 Cheuk Yee (Mavis) Liu (China)

What are Parents Saying?
“The whole atmosphere at Albert is so warm, wonderful and inviting. We left Albert knowing that this was the only school where we would ever send our kids. Not only did the school offer great programs and have an excellent academic record, but the family environment made us feel like our kids would be nurtured, loved and cared for while they were away from home.” - Alumni Parents, Robert and Pam D'Andrade (Barbados)
