Giving to the Annual Fund

The Annual Fund campaign is an integral part of the school’s fundraising efforts. By giving to the Annual Fund, you are helping Albert students make the most of each learning opportunity and ensuring the school will have the resources to support, enable and motivate each student. Past Annual Fund achievements include: Junior School playground equipment, Mac computers and related equipment, SMART boards and projectors, athletic and arts equipment, etc. Please see the Annual Fund page to see what’s planned for this year.

Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Securities

Canadians are able to give appreciated securities and receive very generous tax benefits. While cash donations receive a receipt for the full amount of the gift, securities offer an additional advantage. Not only will donors receive a receipt for the full current value of their appreciated securities but now they will be exempt form capital gains taxes on the amount of the appreciation. This can be a significant advantage over a direct donation of cash.

Giving Gift-in-Kind

Special gifts-in-kind may be considered on an individual basis, the gift must provide values to one of the School’s programs. For gifts of value more than $1,000 an independent third-party appraisal must be provided from a qualified professional. Please see Donating Gifts-in-Kind for more information.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies will match your charitable gift as an employee, a spouse or retiree. You may be able to double your gift to Albert College! Here’s how! Check with your companies Human Resources department to see if they match gifts, and obtain a matching gift form to mail in with your gift.
