Graham Hall boys’ residence is home to all boarding male students. Located on the main campus, boys enjoy the many amenities of living on campus. Albert College has a full service gymnasium complete with two squash courts and a fitness center which are all located on the lower level of Graham Hall, virtually in the boy’s basement! Graham Hall residence has three floors, each with its own washrooms and showers as well as a common room with a kitchen. Each common room is equipped with a television, DVD player and gaming equipment. They boys often enjoy gathering in the common room, after study hall of course, to watch their favourite teams battle it out or to play a video game together.

Study hall is two hours (from 7 to 9 p.m.) every week night except Fridays. Students are supervised by a residential staff member and a faculty member who helps each student with their homework. Our alumni report that the hours from 7 to 9 p.m. are now permanent study times for them even now at university and they thank the routine of study hall for this.

Living and learning in a unique environment with students from over 20 nations definitely has its perks. The boys often talk and share stories about their homeland and learn the many different languages. Although the boys come to Albert from around the globe, the friendships that are developed in residence last a lifetime and are maintained no matter the distance.

An Alumni Story: Brothers for Life

Meet the House Director: Kirby Fredericks
Profile by Alumnus, Adam Craig '99

"Kirby Fredericks is someone I have come to know and respect in many different capacities - House Director, Duke of Ed Coordinator, coach and, most importantly, friend. Kirby, who officially is the Head of IT at Albert College, positively affects life for Albert students in many different ways. I was lucky enough to get to know Kirby over my final four years at Albert College.

Spending time with Kirby has taught me how important a work/life balance really is. I see how hard Kirby works in his many roles at Albert, but I have also seen him take the time to enjoy life. Whether it was through his passion for basketball, his love of the outdoors and camping and fishing, or his dedication to his family, Kirby has taught me to enjoy all aspects of life. Kirby shares his passion for the outdoors with students year after year through the Duke of Ed Adventure program. Students learn all there is to know about the Canadian great outdoors from Kirby and have a great time fishing, canoeing and cooking over an open fire.

The impact that Kirby has had on my life is far more than I could possibly describe. I want to use this opportunity to not only comment on the person he is but also to thank him for the person he has helped me become. Kirby, I thank you for teaching me more than you will ever know."  - Adam Craig '99

What are Students Saying?
Albert College has been called home by many generations of students, both boarding and day. The students and staff at Albert will soon become your extended family. But don’t take our word for it – ask our students! Click on one of the boys pictures below to hear what they have to say about their experiences in residence and what it’s like to study at Albert. Please Note: The first section of these videos have been recorded in the students' first language. An English version will follow in the second half.

What are Parents Saying?
“Deborah and I drive past Albert frequently and one or the other of us always mentions our affection for the school and the sense of relief we had while Simon was boarding at Albert. I do not think that Simon would be where he is today without the two years that he spent in the intimate world that Graham Hall provided. It was a stable and predictable environment when he needed those qualities the most. There is no one teacher or experience that I would single out rather it was his integration into the Albert family which was tolerant, flexible, and demanding in a straight-forward way.” - Alumni Parents, Hew Elcock and Deborah Schuller (Ontario)
