Our alumni report that they are well prepared for University. When their peers are just learning how to strike a balance between work and play, Albert College graduates have already developed the study skills and routines necessary to succeed at University before the end of high school.

Alumni Profile - Madori Sakamoto '11

Madori Sakamoto has attended Albert College for 11 years as a day student from Belleville. She graduated as an Ontario and Albert College Scholar achieving a 90% average or above in six grade 12 subjects. Madori was the recipient of a top convocation award, the Howard Award, for most outstanding female student in the graduating class and was also elected valedictorian.

Being a straight “A” student at Albert College does not only mean excelling at Academics. It means being involved in all aspects of Albert’s A’s. In Athletics, Madori was the recipient of the Class of ’66 trophy for most outstanding athlete. She has been active in the Arts, leading the Wind Ensemble for 6 years and participating behind the scenes for many drama productions. In Active Citizenship, Madori has achieved over 260 volunteer hours and traveled to Ecuador to help build a school. She was a member of the camp committee and participated in a number of Duke of Edinburgh trips in Adventure.

Madori’s participation in Albert’s 5 A’s set her apart when she applied for University. 100% of the class of 2011 is pursuing a post-secondary education. Madori will attend Laurentian University to study Forensic Science.

Alumni Profile - Matt Marinovich '10

Matt Marinovich has attended Albert College for 11 years as a day student from Trenton. He graduated as an Ontario and Albert College scholar achieving a 90% average or above in six grade 12 subjects. Matt was the recipient of the Governor General’s Academic Medal for the highest academic standing and was elected valedictorian. Being a straight “A” student at Albert doesn’t only mean excelling at Academics. It means being involved in all aspects of Albert’s A’s. Matt is an active participant in Athletics and was the recipient of the Pisano Finlay Award in recognition of his excellent sportsmanship qualities and athletic contribution. Matt also achieved his gold Active Citizenship pin for 100 hours of community service and gold Duke of Edinburgh achievement, as part of the Adventure program.

Along with 100% of his classmates pursuing a post-secondary education, Matt is currently studying Science at the University of Western Ontario. After completing his undergraduate degree, Matt plans to attend dental school.

Alumni Profile – Alyssa LeBlanc ’09

Alyssa was a five-day boarding students at Albert College, returning home to Kingston on weekends. She graduated an Ontario and Albert Scholar in June 2009. Alyssa was the valedictorian and recipient of The Governor-General’s Academic Medal as well as numerous other awards for high academic standing and school spirit. Along with 98% of our graduates Alyssa immediately pursued a post-secondary education. She attended  The International Study Centre in East Sussex, England (United Kingdom) and she is currently studying history at Dalhousie University.
