Boarding Life

At Albert, boarding students thrive in a close-knit, family-like atmosphere where students from Canada and across the globe grow together in a small school setting. Here students find comfort in cozy rooms, surrounded by friends and supportive teachers and staff, within a safe and lively city.

Albert College’s boarding experience fosters accountability, initiative and organizational skills. Our program includes an organized and structured after-school and weekend schedule with built-in study hall sessions to ensure students are able to stay on top of their academic responsibilities. On the weekends, boarding students enjoy activities supervised by boarding staff and are encouraged to get involved, step outside their comfort zone and try something new.

With a strong foundation, students are able to confidently take the leap towards self-reliance and academic achievement.

Our Boarding Houses

Each boarding house at Albert College has its own feeling of home, with a house director, assistant director(s) and amenities. Most rooms are private (single occupancy), and include a bed, pillow, mattress, desk, chair and clothing storage.

Boarding students may stay on-campus during the following weekends:

  • Thanksgiving Break (evening of October 9 to October 14, 2025)
  • February Break (evening of February 11 to February 17, 2026)
  • Spring Break (evening of April 2 to April 6, 2026)
  • Programming and food is provided and registration is required. Students must participate in the provided activities.

The fee is based on the offerings and number or registrants.

Graham Hall and Baker House

Albert College has two boarding spaces on campus. Graham Hall is home to our senior boarding students while Baker House is home to our junior boarding students, beginning in Grade 7. Both are located within the main building, allowing students to enjoy the many amenities of campus living. Both boarding spaces have their own shared washroom facilities and common rooms equipped with television and gaming consoles, plus a fridge and microwave for light cooking.

Victoria Manor

Victoria Manor is a short walk from the main campus. Students at the Manor enjoy their own fitness and yoga space as well as a kitchen where they enjoy cooking authentic dishes and snacks with friends. Victoria Manor has a number of common spaces, a television and recreation room, dining, study and living rooms, as well as lots of outdoor green space.

“I could not have asked for a better high school experience. Being at the Manor I have created relationships that I am so sure will last a lifetime. The Manor staff, or as we like to call them, ‘Manor Moms,’ have played an impeccable role in my life. Being thousands of miles away from home, I really do realize how big of a role they played [on my experience].”

Flexible Multi-Day Boarding

Boarding at Albert College is an opportunity for students to begin gaining independence in a safe and encouraging environment, surrounded by peers who are sharing the experience. Many of our boarding students live within driving distance of our campus and take advantage of our flexible options. Students have the option to board anywhere from one to five days if needed weekly.

Multi-day boarding offers a cost-efficient solution for families seeking the benefits of a boarding experience while maintaining the flexibility to regularly connect with their children.

Our Boarding Philosophy
